Are you having fun with it?
This is something that way too many people overlook in their efforts to succeed.
They focus on the work they have to put in. The blood, sweat, and tears. And while these things are definitely necessary at times – if you don’t have FUN evolving, you’ll eventually stop.
In the last fifteen years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting thousands of people across the world who are into self-development.
I’ve met people who were beginners and who were experts. Successful and not successful. Motivated and demotivated. You name it.
And there’s one thing the experts, the successful, the motivated ALL share: They truly enjoy working on their self-development. They have fun with it!
Among my coaching clients, I also see an enormous difference between those who have fun with their coaching and their tasks and those who see it more as a job, as something they just have to work their way through.
And many experience that how much fun they’re having can change from week to week. This leads some of them to believe that they have fun when they succeed with their tasks, but looking at it from the outside it’s clear to me that they succeed at their tasks when they have fun!
Why so serious?
If you take your development and your goals, whether they’re personal or professional, too seriously – it will only lead to frustration and demotivation in the long term. So focus on finding the fun in what you do!
How can you do a challenge, or what can you add to an exercise, that will make it more fun for you?
When you think about what you’re going to do – or what you have done – where can you find the entertainment, the play, the funny stories in the experience?
Train yourself to look for the fun, and work to create fun challenges for yourself, and you’ll not only see that you’ll enjoy the process a lot more, but the results will start coming your way faster and easier than ever before.
And if you need some help figuring out how to have fun with this stuff, you can email me back and tell me a little bit about your situation – or even book one of my free coaching calls if you haven’t had yours yet – and I’ll be happy to help!
